The MISSION of Hills Baptist Church is to be a four-county cornerstone of faith, dedicated to our Lord; to serve, care, and witness to all of those around us.

At Hills Baptist Church, we truly believe that the God who created everything desires to have a loving relationship with each and every person on the earth.  The Bible tells us in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (NIV)

Why was it necessary for God to give his one and only Son?  Because sin separates all of us from God and keeps us from having a relationship with him.  Romans 3:23-24 tells us, “[F]or all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Jesus Christ.” (NIV)

We cannot remove this barrier of sin by our own power.  There is nothing we can do to earn forgiveness.  The prophet Isaiah says it very well, “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.” (Isaiah 64:6, NIV)

Since we are not able to remove the barrier of sin ourselves, God came up with the solution:  “You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.  Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly die.   But God demonstrates his love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  Isn’t that great?  Christ died for us before we even knew we needed someone to pay for our sins.

But Jesus did not stay dead.  He rose from the dead, conquering death and the grave, and now offers us forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life in heaven with God.  The Lord only asks for us to acknowledge that we are sinners, ask for the forgiveness that Jesus offers, and ask the Lord to come into our lives and take control as Lord.  The apostle Paul puts it this way, “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in you heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” (Romans 10:9-10, NIV)

Do you know Jesus?  Not just know who Jesus is, but know him and have a relationship with him as your Savior and Lord.  Would you like to?  You can pray right where you are and ask Jesus to forgive you and to come into your life.  You might say something like this:  “Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned.  I believe that you died on the cross to pay for my sins.  Please forgive me and come into my life and make me new.  In Jesus name, Amen.”

If you prayed that prayer, we encourage you to find a Bible-believing church fellowship to be part of wherever you live.  If you have more questions about Jesus and the hope that comes with a relationship with the Lord, feel free to e-mail our Pastor:
