Meet the Pastor

Pastor Charles Cole

I have lived in Indiana most of my life. I am the youngest of four children and grew up in Connersville, Indiana. I have pastored four churches in Indiana, from 1991 until now. In May of 2012, I married Valorie Snyder, the first and only marriage for either of us. Music, sports, but especially my family and church families are of great importance.

The following is part of my personal testimony:

"I was raised in a Christian home and gave my heart to Christ in the summer of 1963 when I was 8 years old. I received my Master of Divinity in May of 1992 from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.

Even before God called me into full time ministry, I liked to help others. I like doing things to help others in sometime tangible ways, at other times just to make them smile. I know 100% that God gave me a heart of a servant. That is how I view not just ministry, but my whole life. I am God’s servant. When God called me to serve He did not qualify it as to whom. When people cross my path, I believe it is to allow me to serve them. God has called me to lead by serving. I try to instill this in others through prayer, instruction, and example."

My wife and I love Indiana and the people we have the privilege of serving. If you want to know more about me, our family or the church, call or stop by for a visit.

May God continue to bless you,

Pastor Charles Cole

Our American Baptist Beliefs

American Baptists believe:

  • that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, and that the Bible is the divinely inspired word of God that serves as the final written authority for living out the Christian faith.

  • the local church is the fundamental unit of mission in denominational life.

  • partake of two ordinances: believers’ baptism and The Lord’s Supper.

  • that the committed individual Christian can and should approach God directly, and that individual gifts of ministry should be shared.

  • take seriously the call to evangelism and missionary work.

  • support religious freedom and respect the expressions of faith of others.

  • acknowledge that God’s family extends beyond our local churches, and that God calls us to cooperative ministries.

  • have been called to be Christ’s witnesses for justice and wholeness within a broken society.

  • American Baptist Churches USA celebrates the racial, cultural and theological diversity witnessed within its membership.

  • heed the biblical call to renewal and the need for a vital witness in a new millennium.
